Want to try and add more healthy options into your life, why not try a vegetable smoothie? All you need to do is combine them with a little dash of yogurt and a handful of fruit and the flavour is simply delicious! 

Fresh….sweet….with a rich texture! 

Let’s start with our favourite vegetable, SPINACH! 

Ingredients:

A handful of spinach: You can use either baby spinach or standard. If you use standard, chop it into pieces first.

1 green apple: The key to a great spinach smoothie! A green apple brings a great sweet tart flavor.

1 banana: Use at room temperature.

1 teaspoon of maple syrup: This will make it a little sweeter.

Ice: A hefty quantity of ice helps add texture and body.

Water: Just a little water and you can blend it right up!

What are the benefits of Spinach?

  • High in calcium (considerably more than other vegetables)
  • Very high in Vitamin K and Vitamin A
  • Low in calories

Ingredients:

1 large carrot: Your main ingredient. You might need to use two depending on the size.

1 apple: Apple adds texture and sweetness, and blends perfectly with carrots.

1 banana: Use at room temperature.

A handful of frozen pineapple or mango pieces: This one needs to be frozen to get the right texture! 

½ a cup of orange juice: Using citrus juice brings out just the right amount of favour in the recipe. 

Add ½  of a cup of greek yogurt: Greek yogurt is packed with protein so this is a great one to add in.

Ice: Ice makes a fluffy texture that’s deliciously satisfying.

What are the benefits of Carrot?

  • High in fiber
  • Low in calories 
  • High in Vitamins A, C, K and potassium
  • Beneficial in lowering cholesterol and good eye health

Ingredients:

⅓ of a cucumber: make sure it is peeled.

1 banana: Use at room temperature.

A handful of frozen pineapple: This is crucial to add sweetness.

A handful of spinach: This will make it lovely and green!

Add ½  of a cup of greek yogurt: Greek yogurt is packed with protein so this is a great one to add in.

Ice: Ice makes a fluffy texture that’s deliciously satisfying.

A tablespoon of lime or lemon juice: It will enhance the flavour.

What are the benefits of Cucumber?

  • High in Vitamin K, C and potassium
  • Low in calories 
  • Contains antioxidants and micronutrients
