Purpose of the Role
To ensure products are manufactured in accordance with food safety, quality, legality and customer requirements by carrying out process checks throughout production. The Process Controller plays a key role in preventing issues before they occur, supporting production teams and ensuring compliance with site procedures, BRCGS requirements and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process Control
● Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specification, including e.g. weights, coding, labelling and packaging.
● Monitor temperature controls and other food safety checks.
● Ensure CCPs, OPRPs and quality checks are completed accurately where applicable.
● Escalate any food safety or quality concerns immediately.
● Ensure legal and customer compliance records are completed correctly.
● Complete start-up, changeover and end-of-run checks, including scales.
● Conduct finished product assessments against specification.
● Identify opportunities to improve standards and processes.
● Support internal, customer and third-party audits demonstrating PC checks.
Responsibilities
● Promote a positive food safety and quality culture.
● Challenge poor practices professionally.
● Support production teams in achieving compliance.
● Work collaboratively across departments.
Skills & Experience
No previous experience is required. We are looking for motivated individuals with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a eye for detail. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed in the role.
