Willowbrook Foods: Fully committed to Net Zero by 2050

At Willowbrook Foods, sustainability is more than a commitment, it’s a responsibility. As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact and reach Net Zero, we have published our Carbon Reduction Plan. This is in line with PPN 06/21, SBTI and GHG Protocols.

We are fully committed to Net Zero by 2050. In order to achieve this and get a clear direction, CarbonFit have reviewed and audited our Carbon Footprint. This helps us to set a structured pathway towards Net Zero across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

Our operations have been reviewed across energy, carbon usage and consumption throughout our buildings, processes, vehicles, travel, distribution waste and employee commuting. This was all done in line with GHG Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and GHG Scope 3 standards.

This report outlines our baseline emissions footprint, current emissions footprint, base year and last financial year summary and our emissions reduction targets. It also showcases our carbon initiatives completed to date and our future carbon reduction projects.

To date, we have already implemented a range of carbon reduction initiatives. These include transitioning forklifts to electric, installing LED lighting with motion sensors across offices and factories, planting native woodland, and introducing electric and hybrid vehicles. We have also completed our initial Scope 3 purchased goods assessment and launched eco-driver training for staff.

We are proud to be fully committed to achieving Net Zero by 2050 or sooner. You can read the full carbon reduction plan here.
